Only Sixteen and Wordle 133

Daily Prompt – Tell us all about the person you were when you were sixteen. If you haven’t yet hit sixteen, tell us about the person you want to be at sixteen.

20150716_091301

Let me whisper to you
The creation that was me
When I was sixteen
I could be as invisible
As a ghost, embarrassed
Always at a distance
Awkward in every way

On the other hand
It was the time
Of experiments
Of finding myself
Of rhythm and fun
Emitting hope
Impulsive plans
Nothing infinite

“Stand Up” – Music Friday Prompt #6 and Wordle 142

by brenda warren

by brenda warren

Stand up and be counted
Don’t be misled
Caress the scarlet sky
There are hellos and goodbyes
Save the planet if we must
Always be at our strongest
Expect the unexpected
As long as we’re grounded
Spare me a piece of your thought
Don’t be so distraught
Be struck by a lightning
Life could be a piece of string
First love is wonderful
Don’t be so blushful
It might even be your last
Don’t worry, I won’t trespassed
Be happy the pair of you
See each other mature and grew
Don’t leave anything behind
Look around you and don’t be blind
Do a bit of this and a bit of that
We have to look after our habitat
As long as we’re happy
Nice to be free and easy

Take a Chance on Me and Wordle 160

What’s the biggest chance you ever took? Did it work out? Do tell!

20150801_170331

Take a chance on me
I’ll be with you with glee
I may be clumsy
I may be breezy
But I listen to your dreams
With strawberries and creams
The world may be shattering
You may be living on a shoestring
But I’ll settle down here with you
We won’t eat what we can’t chew
The sky’s the limit
We don’t say “but..”
Your name’s my favourite
As well as chocolate
I might vanish in thin air
So handle me with care
I may rub your sore spot
But look what I’ve bought
And you can see me through
See how much I grew
Like a glass, no secrets
Of pure gold, with 24 carats
I wear my heart on my sleeve
And everything I can achieve

Wind-Driven Rain – Picture Prompt #26: Starting or Ending and Wordle 167

struck

He was not going to allow the cold
Wind-driven rain to change his plan
The sound of the rain around him enfold
Even the thunder cannot make him run

He approach all with a single aim
And that is to win, no matter what
He has to lay claim on the dame
It takes a lot of courage and gut

In each level, he has to play fair
A key player of life, with a glint of hope
He’s always been fair and square
No matter what, he’s always able to cope

Taking everything with a grain of salt
But then she came and everything changed
The whole world seems to halt
Doesn’t want her to be estranged

Attaching to her like glue, losing his mind
But she wants to go where no one has been
He held her hands, their fingers entwined
She was nowhere to be seen, to his chagrin

And suddenly at this present phase, he’s lost
He has to start from scratch and that’s tough
He was physically and mentally exhausted
He should carry on, what he did wasn’t enough
