the falling leaves
shades of reds, browns and yellows
such enchanting stroll

trees glisten
autumn day is like a dream
cool breeze and dark time

autumn winds whisper
crispy leaves falling from trees
heaps of gold and red

If Only – Prompt 79 – Phrase Phase #12 and FFfAW-Week of 9-29-2015

Louise, with the “The Storyteller’s Abode” has provided our prompt photo this week. Thank you Louise!

If only I followed my heart instead of my head
I wouldn’t be living in that shed
If only I went out with Brad instead of Pete
Perhaps my life would be complete
If only I finished my degree instead of eloping with Pete
I swoon over his manly ways and he was sweet
If only I concentrated on my career instead of bearing children
I seem to be forever living with my apron
I would be staying at the cottage house by the beach
The sky began to change from grey to peach
I would be sailing and catching fish with our boat
The water is refreshing as I float
I would probably still have my figure and career
And hopefully have a gorgeous year
I would probably still be happy with my life
With friends to go out for our nightlife
But I have made some rash decisions
I have to think about the little ones
And I have to suffer the consequences
Ponder carefully before I make choices

I breathe again and exhale
The straw is to be baled
Silhouette of bony copse
As seen from the hilltops
Figures flying north in the spring
To breed as they spread their wings
One pastel and nebulous afternoon
The nature as pure as I commune
Cranberry ichor of the god
Such splendour as I applaud
Atavistic menace outside the door
Appreciate the grandeur of the moor
Bicycle on standby, waiting forever
A poem with me as the author
Perhaps one day you return to me
And we share the sunset and the sea
I wait by the light of the silvery moon
When roses and lavenders flower in June

Oktoberfest – Wordless Wednesday and Our World Tuesday

Octoberfest 004

Octoberfest 010

The world’s biggest beer festival, Munich’s Oktoberfest, has opened with six million revellers expected just as the German city is grappling with a record refugee influx. The celebration of traditional Bavarian culture with its oompah music and beloved frothy beer kicked off when Mayor Dieter Reiter cracked the first beer barrel with two mallet blows and offered a toast to a “peaceful” Oktoberfest.

The A & B Building – Mondays Finish the Story and Whirligig 26

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Staying After” by Linda Gregg: horses, poems, dancing, balcony, railing, sing, luxury, apartments, windows, dirty, shining, brick

Finish the story begins with: “The A&B Building was made entirely from driftwood.” I learned how to ride horses there, and spent most of my childhood singing and dancing with the other campers. The windows were always dirty with smudges of our handprints. It wasn’t what you call a luxury apartment, drab and dull for a building if you really like to describe it. But that was where I’ve created some of my poems and stories and it would always be dear to my heart. I made some friends there. We spent our nights looking at the stars at night in our balcony. It wasn’t made of bricks and it never was shining, but I love it the way it was.
