ANNIVERSARY SONG. by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Happy-3rd-Anniversary

WHY pacest thou, my neighbour fair,

The garden all alone?
If house and land thou seek’st to guard,

I’d thee as mistress own.

My brother sought the cellar-maid,

And suffered her no rest;
She gave him a refreshing draught,

A kiss, too, she impress’d.

My cousin is a prudent wight,

The cook’s by him ador’d;
He turns the spit round ceaselessly,

To gain love’s sweet reward.

We six together then began

A banquet to consume,
When lo! a fourth pair singing came,

And danced into the room.

Welcome were they,–and welcome too

Was a fifth jovial pair.
Brimful of news, and stored with tales

And jests both new and rare.

For riddles, spirit, raillery,

And wit, a place remain’d;
A sixth pair then our circle join’d,

And so that prize was gain’d.

And yet to make us truly blest,

One miss’d we, and full sore;
A true and tender couple came,–

We needed them no more.

The social banquet now goes on,

Unchequer’d by alloy;
The sacred double-numbers then

Let us at once enjoy!

1802.

One More Day – FFF18 and Wordle 143

les-mis

One more day to illuminate
Me on the priorities of life
I don’t want to be a dead weight
And I don’t want any strife

One more day to storm
The challenges and hindrances
I’m sure I could still perform
What’s all this fuzz?

One more day to pool
Resources for the common good
I don’t want to be cruel
With the frosty weather I withstood

One more day to create
Significant impact on you
I need you, I tell it straight
Before I say adieu

One more day to haunt
Me with the scenes of our lives
I have no wealth to flaunt
We’ll see each in our afterlives

One more day to need
One last kiss before I’m lifeless
My very last good deed
Before I spin the axis

One more day to pay
The price of my sins
There must be some way
To play the violins

Pride and Joy – Daily Prompt

Barcelona 010

HRH the son is our pride and joy. From the time he was born and now at 23, he’s still our precious one, and the only one. We’re always proud of him and we wish him all the best. Cheers, our son!

The time really goes so fast
We can still remember all the years
His first words that gave us cheers
The first time he crawls and walks
The first time he rode his bicycle
His first day of school with a big bag
Karate, music, choir, kung-fu, guitar
When we reminisce them they bring tears

From primary years to senior years
He was showing some independence
Lots of friends, loves Maths and Science
Learns to drive, happy to have his license
Friends stayed overnight and had fun
Activities in school, soon time to leave
To another country to have his degree
We surely miss him but we had to let him go

Happy we all are
When the son rang and said
She said yes and soon they be wed
Gave her a charming sapphire ring
Lovely in her hands so they go-ahead

Seven Wonders – Daily Prompt

Khalil Gibran once said that people will never understand one another unless language is reduced to seven words. What would your seven words be?

Thanks for the great idea, Mati!

20150916_155036

My seven words would be:
LOVE – Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none. (by William Shakespeare)
HAPPINESS – A happy family is but an earlier heaven. (by George Bernard Shaw)
CHALLENGE – The greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart. (by Dorothy Day)
DIVERSITY – Diversity: the art of thinking independently together. (by Malcolm Forbes)
COMPASSION – Compassion is the antitoxin of the soul: where there is compassion even the most poisonous impulses remain relatively harmless. (by Eric Hoffer)
FAMILY – Family is the most important thing in the world. (by Princess Diana)
OPPORTUNITY – Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door. (by Kyle Chandler)

Have a lovely week everyone!

Sonnet 28: How Can I Then Return In Happy Plight by William Shakespeare – #BeWoW

IMGP2719

How can I then return in happy plight
That am debarred the benefit of rest?
When day’s oppression is not eased by night,
But day by night, and night by day oppressed?
And each, though enemies to either’s reign,
Do in consent shake hands to torture me,
The one by toil, the other to complain
How far I toil, still farther off from thee.
I tell the day, to please him, thou art bright
And dost him grace when clouds do blot the heaven;
So flatter I the swart-complexioned night,
When sparkling stars twire not thou gild’st the even.
But day doth daily draw my sorrows longer,
And night doth nightly make grief’s length seem stronger.

Starlight, Star Bright – Thur Picture Prompt #33: Great Distances and Wordle 81

Jerry Uelsmann

Jerry Uelsmann

Starlight, star bright, make a wish, I wish I may
Perhaps I want to go to countries like Zimbabwe
To a land so far away, travelling great distances
Riding buses, aeroplanes, ships, jeepneys and cruises
Over the hills, to the depths of the seas and sandy shores
Learning my lessons, writing my memoirs, being outdoors
Acquiring new things, seeing the world, adventures galore
Understanding about them, they’re all in a brochure
Meeting you and the others, oh what fun it would be
Dancing the night away, footloose and fancy free
Away from this tumultuous and rotten world with flees
As long as I don’t transgress and make you displease
Enable to scramble over the wall to the summit ridge
I’ve got my suitcase ready, don’t care about the mileage
Swelling with smugness in this upbeat biosphere
The atmosphere has thicken from the exosphere
Having the key to your heart, be as charming as can be
I always see the world as peachy or pearly
Starlight, star bright, these are some of my wishes
Hope they come true and I’d be happy as I bounce

Fly Me to the Moon and Back – Five Minute Free Writes 10/14/15-“I’ll Fly Away”

Fly me to the moon and back
I can always give you the feedback
This autumn day is like a dream
Trees glisten thanks to the moonbeam
Journeying isn’t the same as a trance
There’s a chance that I can dance
The fountain shimmering like diamonds
For some, time speeds up, senses heightened
The paper lamps all bright and cheerful
They can’t help but continue to babble
The girls and boys all having a giggle
And after that the conversation lulled
Having fun on this gorgeous night
Yellow lights which were all bright
Seeing the city in its full glory
Everyone feels so carefree
Feeling the chills in our bones
But there are no need for moans
Didn’t want this charming night to end
When sharing it with a great friend
