the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
We see no reason why
Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!”

It must have been more than twenty years ago when we saw “Miss Saigon” at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London. I was with my sister and Him Indoors. That time we were still living in Nottingham so we spent the weekend in London to see the show. We didn’t have tickets so we queued before the show, hoping for some returned tickets. While we were on the queue, Jonathan Pryce got out of his car and entered the theatre. We were so happy to see him. The show was amazing. Most of the casts were from the Philippines, which made us proud, especially when there was a standing ovation after the show. Lea Salonga, the lead actor, was brilliant and so were the rest of the cast. We saw them after the show. I was in tears when we left. Made me proud to be a Filipina.
